Painted in 1876 by New Zealander Frank Edward Clarke who was an ichthyologist and scientific illustrator. He discovered numerous fish species previously unknown to science and was the third most active describer of those new species in New Zealand from 1870 to 1905.
I have chosen 4 of his artworks and taken snippets of the scales to make a contrasting back.
Measurements are 40cm x 80cm and come have duck feather inner.
Designed in house and made just for Doris
